When she was a little girl, Barri loved a good story. She wanted to be a ballerina when she grew up, but after years of painful lessons and awkward recitals she decided to find a way to tell a story that didn’t rely so heavily on coordination. Barri began her career in film as a development exec for writers/producers/director Bruce Evans and Ray Gideon (STARMAN, STAND BY ME, MR. BROOKS) where she could not believe she was getting paid (OK, not very much) to create and pitch movie ideas. Now a successful producer, Barri is still in love with ideas. She has set up specs and pitches at numerous studios and networks including Warners, Universal, Disney, Fox, Nickelodeon, New Line, HBO and Lifetime. As a teacher, she shares her success secrets with you. Her students have gone on to win contests get signed by agents and managers and have splashy spec sales.
